China’s Cooperation with Central and Eastern European Countries between Geopolitics and Geoeconomics
(Abstract)
Adrian Severin
The patterns of international relations are undergoing changes, with fragmentation and division coexisting with unification and unity. The China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) cooperation has not led to the division of Europe. Instead, it has accelerated the income convergence between Eastern and Western Europe and promoted the development of European integration. However, the China-CEEC cooperation is still influenced by factors such as ideology, great-power competition, and the rising trend of de-globalization. In the future, the China-CEEC cooperation should continue to promote practical cooperation, emphasize sustainable and inclusive growth, and create more opportunities for all countries to achieve common development and prosperity.
